Review of the Virvolt 750 rear wheel motor kit mounted on a Ridgeback Expedition (26-inch wheels). The integration is very good. The handlebar control is...W102 It's minimalist but sufficient; the buttons aren't very practical with gloves, and the markings are very small. The standard 378-volt bottle battery is very convenient. The assistance is sufficient if you use the triple chainring drivetrain correctly. Around the cutoff point (25 km/h), and sometimes even below, there's an on/off effect that also depends on pedaling style. Overall, a good product and certainly the best option for maintaining the spirit of this touring bike.

Since August 2025, I have been riding a custom-made road bike by AVALANCHE, a small, artisanal manufacturer in Montreuil.CIt's a steel bicycle, single chainring, 11 speeds, disc brakes hydrauliques.Il is equipped with a VIRVOLT Kit 750 assistance system, 380 battery Wh.Le The bike is lightweight, 13.4kg, fully equipped. I am particularly satisfied with the bike and amazed by the battery life, the quiet operation of the motor, and its efficiency. I was able to do several hikes of 90 km, 1000m of elevation gain, with one battery. There was still enough range to go a few more kilometers, not much but it's much better than the 70 km range advertised on your website. I should point out that I only use the first assistance mode, average speed 26.5 km/h. It's just as good as with the previous bike, a BMC carbon equipped with Shimano Steps 8000, 504 Wh battery.
In conclusion, I do the same with a cheaper, lighter, quieter, repairable (Shimano does not repair motors) bike, made in France. And what's more, at Virvolt, the people are welcoming, friendly and helpful. THANKS.
