Frequently Asked Questionsbreakdown service & Customer Service

My screen won't turn on or the support won't start. What should I do?

Before you worry, perform these few simple checks:

  • The battery: Is it sufficiently charged? Is it fully inserted into its holder and locked with the key? (A battery that is not properly clipped in will prevent contact).
  • The connectivity: Check all visible cables (around the screen, motor, and battery). A cable may have become slightly disconnected due to vibration or impact. Disconnect and firmly reconnect the connectors.

Ignition: Press and hold the screen power button for at least 2 to 3 seconds.

My electric assist cuts out while I'm riding, is that normal?

It depends on the situation:

  • Above 25 km/h: That's perfectly normal! In accordance with European legislation (EN 15194 standard), the assistance automatically cuts off as soon as you reach 25 km/h. It will gradually resume as soon as your speed decreases.

Below 25 km/h: Check that the battery is securely locked onto its base (vibrations can cause brief interruptions if it's loose). If you have brake sensors, make sure that a lever isn't slightly stuck, which would cut the motor as a safety measure.

My screen displays an "Error Code".

An error code indicates that the system has detected an anomaly.

  1. Note the number displayed on the screen.
  2. Completely shut down the system, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. A simple restart is sometimes enough to clear a minor error.
  3. Check that no cables are stretched, pinched or disconnected.
  4. If the code persists, refer to the user manual provided with your kit or contact your partner workshop and provide them with this number.
I hear an unusual noise coming from the rear wheel or the engine.

A slight whistling sound (especially on steep inclines) is the natural noise of the electric motor under load. However, a metallic noise, a clicking or creaking sound is often mechanical in origin.

  • Check that your chain is properly lubricated and that your gears shift correctly.
  • Make sure that none of the spokes on the rear wheel are loose (you can lightly "pinch" them two by two with your fingers to check their tension).
  • If the noise persists and seems to be coming from inside the hub, make an appointment with your installation workshop for a diagnosis.
My battery refuses to charge.
  • The branching order: Remember to always plug the charger into the wall outlet. Before to connect it to the battery.
  • The charger indicator light: Does it light up green (plugged into the wall) and then red (charging)? If no lights come on on the charger, the problem may be with the wall outlet or the charger itself.

Temperature : For safety reasons, a battery that is too cold or too hot (after being in the sun) will go into protection mode and refuse to charge. Let it rest at room temperature (20°C) for an hour before trying again.

The assistance seems less powerful than usual.

If you have a kit with a torque sensor (like the 750 or 750T), the assistance depends on your effort.

  • Check your tire pressure: an underinflated tire gives a strong feeling of heaviness and consumes a lot of energy.
  • Make sure that your brakes (pads or shoes) are not constantly rubbing against the rim or disc.
  • Check the charge level: when the battery falls below 15/20%, the system sometimes slightly reduces power to preserve the remaining battery life.
What is the warranty on my VIRVOLT kit?

Your VIRVOLT kit (motor, battery, screen, and electronic components) comes with a 2-year legal warranty. Furthermore, our motors are designed to be "repairable for life": even after the warranty expires, all internal spare parts can be replaced by our workshops to extend the lifespan of your equipment indefinitely!
