The birth of the Cycles du Midi project

Trained as a mechanical engineer, Ange worked for 10 years in the aeronautics industry in Toulouse.

Three years ago, he decided to embark on an entrepreneurial venture and to set up his first bicycle delivery business. He explains:"Through this experience, I discovered entrepreneurship, but also cargo bikes."

"This experience allowed me to break through the glass ceiling and pursue what I truly wanted to do. As a mechanical engineer, I wanted to "To manufacture a product."

How did they develop the project?

"We went to talk to the shops during the bike's development phase, which allowed us to get their feedback as early as possible. This is important for us because we want to distribute in stores."

Ange shares a funny little anecdote with us 😉

Their first prototype had been stolen. "I parked it in front of my house, a quiet little spot in Toulouse. They stole a frame, two wheels, and a drivetrain." Amazing!!

"But hFortunately, we had put a GPS tracker on it, so I found it 300 meters from my house in a residential area." Phew!

The story had a happy ending, that's why we're laughing about it...

Why did you choose to collaborate with the motor manufacturer Virvolt?

Initial feedback on the project
